Chief Executive's Office
Cornwall County Council
Grade K £27,759 – £33,984 p.a.
The development of the Cornish language is on a threshold. Following its recognition by the UK Government in 2002 as a minority or regional language, the language users and local government in Cornwall have published a strategy for its development. We are looking for an effective manager to facilitate the development of the Cornish language in line with the strategy. You will have a degree and experience of successful project management, and will be able to enthuse and engage with people from the voluntary, public and private sectors.
The Manager will be responsible to the newly-created Cornish Language Partnership, and supported by the County Council. You will be based at County Hall, Truro. The post has funding from the European Commission, the UK Government and Cornwall County Council until June 2008. However, this is seen as only the first stage of funding and, depending on its success, it is hoped that the project will be secured for the future.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact John Sawle on 01872 322102 or email: email@example.com
